Cynthia D. Banks is a seasoned leader and strategic partner in the non-profit world where she focuses her business acumen on systemic efficiencies to create lean, high-quality organizations better poised to serve their communities.
She has served in important roles as the Director of Los Angeles County Workforce Development Aging and Community Services, overseeing a multitude of safety-net programs, Interim CEO & Chief of Staff of the American Society on Aging, and President and CEO of CDB Consulting, a solutions-based consulting firm. Her current work with ASA addresses the critical issues of ageism, diversity and equity and economic security for Older Adults.
Currently, Ms. Banks is Board Chair of the Archstone Foundation. Archstone has a mission of preparing society to meet the needs of an aging population. Also, she serves as an appointee for North Carolina’s Governors Advisory Council on Aging and a Board member of the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte. Among her past affiliations are Board member for House of Ruth, Mt. Baldy United Way, N4A, (now USAging), American Society on Aging and Sunrise Senior Housing. A native of California, she is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills and resides with her husband in North Carolina.
