Candidate survey results

Over the past two weeks, Next50, in collaboration with several aging advocacy organizations, hosted five virtual candidate forums on aging, where candidates running for the Colorado House and Senate shared their perspectives. With over 550 attendees, 50 candidates from across the state and political spectrum agreed that the cost of aging in Colorado is a significant challenge.

The forums highlighted several solutions: offering tax credits and expanding respite care to support family caregivers, enhancing mental health services, and improving access to affordable in-home care and housing to help older adults age in place.

Candidates also discussed support for an aging workforce, flexible work environments and providing incentives to hire and retain older workers, alongside career transition programs and stronger retirement savings initiatives.

Next50 has compiled the responses received from candidates and has linked them here.

While we did not host a forum for candidates running for a federal office, aging advocates did ask each candidate to complete a survey. Next50 has compiled the responses of the completed surveys for the federal office and linked them separately aquí.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 5th 2024.

Thank you to the co-sponsors who made these events a success.
