For Aging March 2026

Read our March newsletter here.

Earlier this month, I shared something deeply personal with my professional network, a window into the 32 days since my father’s stage IV pancreatic cancer diagnosis, and what it revealed about the state of healthcare in America. As I wrote in my blog post, I found myself turning to AI to interpret scans, research treatment options, and fill the gaps a fragmented, overburdened system left wide open. My conclusion from this experience is one that connects deeply to Next50’s work: “No family should need a chatbot to fill the care gaps the system creates.”

Unfortunately, my story is not unique but underscores why this work matters. The people we serve are navigating exactly these moments, like complex diagnoses, disconnected care, and a system governed by incentives that too often don’t align with patients and their families. At Next50, we believe technology is a tool, not a substitute for the human connection and coordinated care that people deserve. My full blog and reflection can be found here.  Thank you for walking alongside me through this challenging time. The work Next50 has ahead, building systems where people can age with dignity, affordability, and compassion, has never felt more urgent or more personal.
