For Aging April 2026

Read our April newsletter here.

April always feels like a moment of forward motion.  This month, we have a great deal to be grateful for and excited about.

First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our strategic planning survey. Your input is invaluable as we shape Next50’s direction for the next five years. As we come up on our ten-year anniversary this May, the thoughtful responses we received reflect just how deeply this community cares about the work ahead. We look forward to sharing more as our plan develops.

As we move into May and Older Americans Month, I’ve been reflecting on a truth that often gets lost: aging is not ‘someone else’s issue.’ With 63 million Americans serving as family caregivers and older adults outnumbering children in 11 states, the stakes of our collective unpreparedness are real and growing. I recently posted a blog post on why Older Americans Month is not just about them. It’s about all of us.

Next50 turns ten this May, now, a decade in, we are celebrating and accelerating. This upcoming month, we’re looking back at a decade of work and forward to what we’re building, including our brand new roadmap for investors in aging and The Future is Old podcast, with everything we’ve learned. Keep an eye out on our website and socials as we share more.

Next50 is turning ten next month, and we are excited to share upcoming work. April’s newsletter publishes the Aging Investment Framework we created in partnership with Sorenson Institute, our newly launched podcast ‘The Future is Old’, and a written blog piece about the importance of Older Americans Month.
