Creating the Conditions for People to Thrive as They Age
At Next50, we believe a world that values aging is one where people have every opportunity to age with independence, dignity, purpose, and connection.
Our work is guided by four investment goals that address the conditions that shape how people experience aging and the opportunities available to them as they grow older.
Expanding Economic Opportunity
Older adults can afford more, live securely, and remain financially stable over time.
Financial security is foundational for one’s well-being. Unfortunately, older adults today struggle to afford the necessities that support independence and quality of life. Many older adults struggle to afford the housing, health care, care supports, and transportation they need to age well. We believe in building a future where everyone can afford to age.
We support efforts that help older adults build and maintain financial stability, navigate life transitions, and access the resources they need to thrive.

Examples of work we support include:
- Access to public benefits
- Vivienda asequible
- Home modifications + integrated in-home supports
- Support for caregivers
- Transportation
- Workforce – skills or retraining, recruitment, and retention
Championing social inclusion
Older adults are seen and valued within, feel connected to, and remain active participants in their communities.
Where we live shapes how we live, especially as we age. Getting around, aging in place, and staying connected all depend on how our communities are designed. Next50 works to make those places work for older adults, because a neighborhood that works for older adults benefits all of us.
We support efforts that create accessible, connected communities, infrastructure, and systems that respond to the needs of an aging population.

Examples of work we support include:
- Service-integrated housing access
- Broadband Connectivity
- Multimodal transportation
By shaping the built environment, we help create communities where older adults can fully participate in everyday life.
Shaping the built environment
Older adults live in communities designed to support their full participation.
Strong communities depend on older adults’ contributions and participation. Yet social isolation, the digital divide, and age bias keep many older adults on the sidelines. When we exclude older adults, everyone loses out, because their skills and experience are exactly what our communities need to thrive.
We support efforts that strengthen social connections, increase participation, and challenge outdated assumptions about aging.

- Service-integrated housing access

By shaping the built environment, we help create communities where older adults can fully participate in everyday life.
advancing health
Older adults can access the care, products, and services they need to thrive.

Health shapes every stage of aging. With people living longer than ever, there’s a growing need, and a real opportunity, for new ways to help people stay healthy. Next50 wants those solutions to reach everyone.
We support efforts that improve access to innovative, effective, and affordable products and services that help older adults maintain health and well-being.

By advancing health, we help ensure older adults have access to the tools, resources, and support they need to live healthy, meaningful lives.
Our equity focus & mission-aligned populations

Next50 supports organizations that align with our mission and core values.
At Next50, equity is central to our mission and valores fundamentales. We are proud to incorporate principles of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of our work. That is why all grant applications must demonstrate alignment with our mission and core values.
Consistent with our mission, we direct all grant funding to low- and moderate-income older adults, including those from historically marginalized and geographically underserved communities. To do this, we have identified the following mission-aligned populations:
